April 27, 2017, had suffered the loss of a famous actor, producer and an MP, Vinod Khanna. That day is now forever written with in-erasable hymns of praise and tears for the actor who ruled Bollywood for decades.
Cause of death – Bladder Carcinoma
Time of death – April 27, 2017 at 11:20 a.m.
His demise stirred an uproar among all generations of Bollywood. From Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachan and Hemamalini to the current stars, Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Anushka Sharma, every single person paid respects to the evergreen actor who commanded deep respect from his debut in 1968.
He rose steadily. Debuted in the film Mann ka meet in 1968, he brought about huge successes in the Bollywood industry with movies like Inkaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Mukaddar ka Sikandar and so on.
As it is said, “No sweat – No success“, his career wasn’t easy on him. He faced rejections and ended up with minor roles in films. Yet, not once did he give up. Vinod Khanna is the first holder of the title – ‘Angry young man“. He attained this title from a role he played in the Box office hit movie “Mere Apne“.
Not only he was famous for lead roles and for swooning heroines, but also he was also acclaimed monumentally for his performances as the negative lead. He received commendation for his acting in the film ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh‘, wherein he played the role of a dacoit who terrorized the village community. His acting as a villain and Dharmendra in the boots of the protagonist led the film to the peak of Everest.
As an actor, he remained on par with his famed seniors and also paved a path for his successors in the film industry. Bollywood’s tasks have come to a sudden halt on account of his death. Many actors tweeted their condolences.
On April 2, 2017, he was hospitalized, when his health deteriorated drastically as a result of an advanced stage of Bladder carcinoma, also known as the Bladder cancer. He desperately fought against it for 25 days and succumbed to the serenity of death in a state of pure exhaustion.
Controversies in the face of his death:
Rishi Kapoor went on a trip of rage when not many attended Mr. Khanna’s funeral. He also remarked on the presence of “chamchas” at the party held by Priyanka Chopra. On a comparative degree, he commented that while people showed interest in attended a party, they had been too busy to pay their respects to Mr. Khanna. His series of tweets are as follows –
While the one with Rishi Kapoor spread like wild-fire, there rose another issue with the cricketer “Vinod Kambli”. People tagged him in their RIP tweets for Vinod Khanna. The cricketer berated those who tagged him with a tweet of his own.
No one knows till when these controversies will go on.
Actors aside, no one from BJP was present at his funeral. He acted as an MP for quite some years and common people furiously expressed their opinion on the absence of BJP party leaders.
