It became the second highest grossing film domestically and the highest grossing film in overseas and worldwide that year. It won 2 National Film Awards and 8 Filmfare Awards. Its tagline “A Story of a Lifetime… In a Heartbeat” easily made us connect with the cast of the film.
Naina Kapur or Preity Zinta, a gloomy uptight student falls in love with her new neighbour Aman Mathur or Shahrukh Khan, who is ill and is in a critical condition. He tries to make his friend Rohit Patel or Saif Ali Khan a perfect match for Naina. The magic of Shahrukh Khan’s acting, and Karan Johar and Niranjan Iyengar ‘s writing can still be felt today.

The story revolves around college campus life and the widower Shahrukh Khan’s daughter trying to reunite Kajol and him. 2. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
Released on 11th August 2006 Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna is again a Karan Johar’s directed movie. With the tagline “A Love…. That Broke All Relationships” the movie broke the records on Box-office. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta tells us how true love should only be the foundation of any relationship and how an unsound foundation will lead to a broken relationship. “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna”, “Mitwa”, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Soniye”, “Where’s The Party Tonight?” and “Tumhi Dekho Naa” are the best songs till date.
3. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
Released on 14th December 2001 it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji. The story tells us about an Indian family and the troubles and misunderstandings they face. These songs from the movie play a perfect role to describe each and every moment-“Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, “Bole Chudiyan”, “You Are My Soniya”, “Suraj Hua Maddham”, “Say Shava Shava”, “Yeh Ladka Hai Allah” and “Deewana Hai Dekho”.

The story revolves around bringing true love together between Veer Pratap Singh or Shah Rukh Khan, an Indian Air Force Pilot who is kept in jail and Zaara Hayaat Khan or Preity Zinta, a Pakistani woman from a rich political family in Lahore. Saamiya Siddiqui or Rani Mukherji, a Pakistani lawyer, bring this couple together who were separated for 22 years. One can still feel the love with songs “Tere Liye“, “Main Yahan Hoon“, “Aisa Des Hai Mera“, “Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hain Kahan“, “Do Pal“, “Kyon Hawa” and “Jaane Kyun“.
Released on 3rd October 2003 Baghban is directed by Ravi Chopra and features Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Hema Malini in lead roles. It was one of Chopra’s biggest hit. The story tells us about the love and care of our parents and how they sacrifice everything for us. It tells about the children who forget their parent’s love and disrespect them and their values. “Chali Chali Phir Chali“, “Holi Khele“, “Main Yahan Tu Wahan“, “Meri Makhna“, “O Dharti Tarse” and “Baghban” are some of our favourites and super hits songs of this movie.
6. Main Hoon Na
Released on 30 April 2004 Main Hoon Na is co-written and directed by Farah Khan. Shah Rukh Khan, Sunil Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao in the main cast bring the theme of the movie perfectly. “Main Hoon Na”, “Tumse Milke“, “Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha“, “Gori Gori“, “Chale Jaise Hawayein” and “Yeh Fizayein” still tops our playlist.
7. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
Released on 14th January 2000 this movie is written and directed by Rakesh Roshan. It was the debuts of his son Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. It became the highest grosser of the year. “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai“, “Pyaar Ki Kashti Mein“, “Na Tum Jano Na Hum“, “Ek Pal Ka Jeena“, “Chand Sitaare” and “Sitaro Kee Mehfil Me Gunjega Tarana” still drive us crazy.

8. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
Released on 20th October 1995 DDLJ is directed by Aditya Chopra. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Raj and Simran and their love story have ruled the cinema for decades. “Ho Gaya Hai Tujhko“, “Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna“, “Mere Khwabon Mein“, “Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane“, “Ghar Aaja Pardesi”, “Tujhe Dekha To” and “Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main” are the 7 best songs from the movie.
