A New Year’s resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to change an undesired trait or behaviour, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their lives.
I am a huge F.R.I.E.N.D.S Fan. I also know how difficult can it be to keep up with new year resolutions. Remember in one of the episodes of the fifth season, when the gang decides to take resolutions which are completely opposite to their respective characters. Ross made a resolution to remain happy the whole year (basically giving up on his failed relationships). Chandler, on the other hand, promised not to make fun of people. Rachel said that she will not gossip and Monica made sure that she will get more pictures of the gang, is a difficult resolution that one takes.
Joey and Phoebe go on a different track. Joey wanted to learn guitar so that he can actually add something true to his resume and Phoebe promised to teach him. This resolution ends up with Joey hiring another guitarist to learn from and dropping the guitar when handed over. Thus it’s not so easy to achieve your new year’s resolution. It requires certain techniques that help a person in achieving his/her resolution.

How can you achieve on your New Year’s resolution?
So here are some techniques to help you become a super-resolution achiever-
1. Only pick 2-3 main goals
At least you should have one really important goal that you’re going to achieve no matter what. You can set two other goals to work towards as well. And if you try to do more than three things at once, you’ll get lost. You’ll start to neglect one of your goals, and then you’ll feel guilty about it. Soon you’ll start to lose confidence in yourself. So stick to 2-3 resolutions at once.
2. Write your resolutions down and post them somewhere
Write your resolutions in big letters and post it somewhere in your home. Make copies of your resolutions to hang in your office/workplace. The more you see them, the more you get motivated.
3. Create your plan and turn it into a habit
Now that you’ve chosen a goal, find something that you can do every day to work towards it. Working on your resolutions every single day is very, very effective. If you do something every day, it becomes a habit. Soon you won’t even think about it; you’ll just do it naturally, like brushing your teeth.
4. Work on one habit per month
To achieve an important goal, you’ll probably need to pick up several good habits.
It’s just too hard to focus on several good habits, and you’ll probably fail if you work on several good habits at once. Instead, focus on one good habit per month. After you get used to, to the first one, you can then add the next one, and so on.
5. Use a calendar
Learn about Jerry Seinfeld calendar technique. Seeing all of the hard work marked on the calendar will motivate you to continue working hard every day.
6. Overcome the obstacles
Many obstacles will come in between you and your resolution. To overcome an obstacle you must break your goals into smaller chunks. No one can leap to the top of Mount Everest in one step. Consider creative solutions. Track your progress. Seek advice and support. Visualize your goal for motivation.
