Poem: The Reason(s) Why I Write

Has it ever happened to you, that you feel this sudden urge of running away from where you are, to some far off place, where it’s just you and your thoughts and you can be in your own zone, indifferent to the rest of the world? So here’s the reason why I write:

Sometimes I feel
The urge, the need
To pen it all down
To let the ink bleed.

Let it all build up
And for once let it pour
On the white handmade paper
Feelings sweet and sour.

Let myself scream
Loud enough for people to read
Write myself down
Let my words sow the seed.

Let the fragments of my thought
Find a beautiful home
Surrounded by words
Where they are no more alone.

Sometimes I feel
The urge, the need
To let it all go for a while
To let my heart bleed.

Writing is the best thing you could do to yourself. Every day, 15 mins of introspection and writing can help you sort your thoughts better. This is what I do, and this is why I write. Be like a book, and let your words be your best friends. A famous quote from “the book thief” by famous author Markus Zusak defines the pleasure of writing in the perfect way possible:

“I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
